The Reason Behind BGMI Being Removed From The Play Store In India
The decision came as a response to the horrific incident. A 16-year-old boy allegedly shot his mother for stopping him from playing BGMI earlier this year. This incident has led to some serious conversations about the behavioral effects of the game on children. While addressing the call for a ban on BGMI, Electronics & IT Minister of State Rajeev Chandrasekhar responded, “There are various reports and grievances received in Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), conveying that apps that were blocked are appearing with new avatar by using similar sounding names or rebranded with the same functionality. All such reports and grievances have been forwarded to Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the requesting agency, for examination. MeitY follows the due process as defined in the Information Technology (Procedure and Safeguards for Blocking for Access of Information by Public) Rules, 2009″. The situation seems a bit chaotic at the moment. Krafton has stated that they are clarifying how BGMI was removed from the Play Store in India. On the other hand, Google has stated that the removal was carried out after informing Krafton of the same.
IS BGMI Banned In India?
For now, the game has only been removed from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. There has been no official announcement about a ban on BGMI in the country. However, if any such action was being taken, players will soon get to know about it. Battlegrounds Mobile India was launched last year after PUBG got banned in India. It gained a lot of popularity in the Indian gaming community. Unsurprisingly, the game gained a large number of players within a short period of time. However, with BGMI being taken off the Play Store, players might want to try these Offline Games Like Free Fire And PUBG Mobile Lite.
