A few days after the Government of India banned PUBG Mobile in India, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar announced to launch Indian made mobile game named FAU-G. The game has finally launched and it has received mixed reviews from gaming websites. Among a few popular PUBG Mobile players, Animesh Agarwal aka Thug is one of them. His contribution to building PUBG Mobile community in India can’t be forgotten. Animesh Agarwal is not only a known PUBG Mobile players but also a founder of a company named 8bit. When Animesh Agarwal was asked about FAU-G, he said that it is a decent beginning for an Indian IP. Sharing his experience of playing FAUG, Animesh Agarwal said that there is no denying that the interface of the game is quite well but there are some technical issues that should be fixed. He was quoted as saying to Money Control, “There are no guns and only fist and sticks are available in the game. So, it is a different concept which I have not seen before,” Agarwal said. What attracts gamers the most are action sequences, better graphics and increased flexibility with the control. He is looking forward to seeing these three things in Indian made FAUG.
Animesh Agarwal on FAUG vs PUBG Mobile
There are tons of players in India are comparing FAUG to PUBG Mobile and when he was asked about the same, he said, “PUBG is one of the biggest mobile titles across the globe and then you are comparing it with a newly launched game. There is no comparison both in the type of game it (FAU-G) is and also in terms of quality. The Indian developers have done a good job.”
Can Content Creators Earn Money From FAU-G?
Currently, there is no option available to make money through Indian made video game, FAUG. When Animesh was about the same, he said, “Right now I don’t see any scope of making money from content creation or from esports perspective. YouTubers finished the game in one stream and that was it.” If anything to by a Money Control report, a PUBG Mobile gamer can easily earn between Rs 45,000 to Rs 50,000 per stream. Apart from streaming, PUBG Mobile players had sponsorship revenues controbuting to their overall income. “Tencent (the company that developed the mobile version of PUBG) had a lot of interest in India, so there were many tournaments with a good prize pool. There was a lot of ease of access thanks to cheap internet. Also, PUBG was first of its kind game on mobile which was simple to play. PUBG had better graphics than any other game and YouTubers also popularized it by streaming,” Agarwal explained.
